Energydak

The Energydak is an energy system for flat and sloping roofs in which plastic panels are integrated into the roof construction. Through these panels a fluid circulates that can extract heat and cold. In combination with a source and a heat pump, this heat and cold can be reused for other applications, resulting in great energy savings. Because the Energydak is not visible on the outside, the appearance of the building remains unchanged.

Advantages of the Energydak:

  • Roof coverage and sustainable energy source in one;
  • Aesthetically pleasing; no elements visible on the roof;
  • Silent and low maintenance;
  • Suitable for extracting and distributing both heat and cold;
  • Helps to preserve the energy balance in the ground;
  • Possible yield up to 3 GJ/m2 per year;
  • Recyclable, 100% polypropylene (PP);
  • An investment that quickly pays off;
  • Financially attractive thanks to government subsidies and premiums.

Cooling and heating

In order to use the heat and cold extracted by the Energydak, the system must be linked to a Heat and Cold Storage System and a heat pump. The heat or cold is stored in the ground via a Heat and Cold Storage System, and it can be reused at any time. A heat pump extracts the energy from the storage system. During hot periods only the cold water is circulated. In winter, the process is reversed: the heat pump increases the temperature of the heat so that it can be reused for heating purposes or for hot tap water. The Energydak also makes it possible to retain the thermal balance in the ground. These advantages make the Energydak a suitable and easy to apply addition to sustainable energy systems.

Advantages of the Energydak include:

  • The regeneration (zero balance) or feeding of source/ground storage systems;
  • Direct feeding of a heat pump;
  • Diverse applications: cooling and heating of the building, preheating of tap water, clearing the roof of snow.

Energydak is a patented system designed by R&R Systems. In the Netherlands, R&R Systems has granted the sales rights of Energydak to Oranjedak. Using a private company called Energydak, they bring the Energydak product to market. Good cooperation between Oranjedak and R&R Systems has resulted in the installation of many Energydak systems in the Netherlands.
